Since CCPA went into effect on January 1, 2020, millions of California consumers have exercised their CCPA rights. And in 2021, the numbers just went up: businesses must process nearly double the number of privacy rights they processed in 2020.
And now, with the CPRA coming in January 2023, privacy leaders should plan for even more change. Employees now have the same rights as consumers, there is the unclear “Lookback period”, and opt-outs are expanding to include the sharing of data. There is a lot to unpack.
