January 2025 brought a new Live Data Map System Profile, instant risk insights, intuitive no-code consent banner editing, proactive cookie management, ML-driven Privacy Request Center translation, data discovery for Databricks, and more.

Welcome to DataGrail’s monthly release notes. January was a big month for the DataGrail product team and our customers. We kicked off the new year by delivering big updates to Live Data Map and DataGrail Consent, Data Discovery support for Databricks, and more.

New to the DataGrail Privacy Platform in January

Live System Data Map Profile | Integrated Risk Assessments | No-code Consent Banner Creation | Privacy Request Center ML Translations | New Integrations

The New Live Data Map System Profile is a one-stop-shop for actionable system and risk insights.

Live Data Map customers can now visit the System Profile for any connected system to find relevant details, explore processing risks, run or review assessments, and manage business processes—all in one place. Read the docs to learn more.

System Profile highlights: 

• Provides a real-time view of all system details, processing risks, and business processes in one place.
• Streamlines privacy reporting for business processes and use cases with version control, auto-populating fields, and easy collaboration. 
• Includes Instant Risk Categories that surface known processing risks, including sensitive personal information and AI subprocessing, for 2,400+ apps—no scanning required.

Integrated Risk Assessments

DataGrail Risk Assessments can now be run and managed directly from the System Profile.

Customers with the Risk Assessments add-on (formerly known as Risk Monitor) can easily create and manage dynamic, pre-populated PIA, DPIA, and AI risk assessments for any system directly from the “Assessments” tab.

No-code consent banner creation and editing

The new Layouts feature now gives you ultimate control over your banner layout in an intuitive, drag-and-drop editor.

Build a banner that fits your site then add and customize text, links, buttons, and more. When you’re ready, you can deploy the update to all your websites with the push of a button—no coding required.

Layouts is available for all new DataGrail Consent customers and will be rolling out to existing customers in the coming weeks. Read the docs to learn more.

Real-time cookie management [beta]

In addition to automated script and tracker management, DataGrail Consent customers now use Cookie Management [Beta] to proactively detect and manage all privacy-impacting cookies with ease.

Start by importing cookies and rules from an existing tool or, if you’re not sure what rules you need, deploy our real-time scanner to get a complete inventory of the cookies on your site.

Next, use the managed and unmanaged filters to ensure every cookie is managed by a rule and no cookies slip by unnoticed.

In the coming weeks, we’ll add even more helpful features, including:

• Automated cookie detection and notifications
• Rule and classification suggestions
• The option to inject dynamic cookie and script descriptions into your banner

Privacy Request Center localization with ML-powered translation

Privacy Request Center now provides a machine-learning-powered translation service that allows the requester to instantly localize the request process to their preferred language. Simply use the language dropdown to preview the translated experience in any of the 20+ supported languages.

In addition, when a request is submitted, DataGrail will now automatically match the email template to the language in which it was submitted. This makes it easy to provide a consistent experience across every customer interaction.

Use this intuitive new feature to ensure you remain compliant with international laws, improve the privacy request experience for your users worldwide, and reduce the incidence of incorrectly-submitted requests.

Our industry-leading integration network continues to grow. We’ve added new integrations to help you securely discover and classify sensitive data and automatically access and delete personal data across your business.
