Data Privacy Platform

What’s New from DataGrail April 2025

Elle Bond, May 6, 2025

April 2025 brought Cookie Lifecycle Management, customizable banner layouts by region, expanded Request Manager support and much more!

Welcome to DataGrail’s monthly release notes 👋

In April, we introduced more enhanced features to empower privacy teams, including advanced cookie lifecycle management, customizable banner layouts by region, and the ability to export risk assessment results for streamlined reporting. We also expanded support for major platforms like Stripe and Facebook Marketing, while continuing to enhance the system profile experience with custom notes.

Let’s get into it.

New to the DataGrail Privacy Platform in April

Cookie Lifecycle Management | Layouts by Policy | Request Table Performance Improvements | Collapsed Style Banner | SCIM 2.0 Support [Beta] | Risk Assessments csv Export | System Profile Custom Notes | New Integrations

Cookie Lifecycle Management

Cookie-level controls are essential for both privacy teams and regulators—but respecting user preferences goes beyond simply blocking cookies. With cookie lifecycle management, every DataGrail Consent customer can now proactively detect and manage all privacy-impacting cookies—without the manual lift.

Customers can continuously monitor cookie activity in real time with no scans to run or buttons to click—ensuring any new tracking behavior is detected and managed instantly for rapid compliance.

Take control of cookie management:

  • Automatically match unmanaged cookies to suggested rules and bulk add new rules to jump-start your cookie management program.
  • Proactively assign cookies to rules, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Streamline GDPR compliance without added manual work
  • Confidently honor user preferences beyond basic cookie blocking

Layouts by Policy

Privacy law requirements vary dramatically by region, rendering “one-size-fits-all” banners ineffective and highly risky. DataGrail Consent customers can now use Layouts to tailor banner design, language, and behavior to a visitor’s geographic policies via a no-code banner editor.

Whether you need a simpler, opt-out banner for U.S.-based visitors or a more detailed, opt-in experience for heavily-regulated regions, Layouts makes it easy to deliver the right experience without adding technical overhead or impacting site performance.

Now you can:

  • Easily build and maintain banner layouts for every geo and use case without code.
  • Customize messaging and behavior for each region’s compliance requirements.
  • Maintain fast load times by serving only relevant banners.

Combined with our improved policy UI, Layouts offers the flexibility and control privacy teams need—no code required.

Request Table Performance Improvements

Managing large volumes of data subject requests just got smoother. Thanks to our latest performance enhancements, the Request Table now loads up to 40% faster, so teams can move seamlessly from one request to the next.

Experience a more responsive interface that scales with your needs—no more waiting, just efficient, uninterrupted workflows.

Collapsed Style Banner

For DataGrail Consent customers, the new Collapsed Style Banner delivers a cleaner, less intrusive mobile experience—without compromising clarity or compliance.

When enabled, the first layer of your banner displays in a compact format, minimizing copy and expanding only when a visitor chooses to learn more. Collapsed Style Banners can be easily toggled on or off in your layout settings—no CSS updates needed—and helps improve performance metrics like Lighthouse scores while keeping the full experience just a click away.

SCIM 2.0 Support [Beta]

DataGrail customers can now streamline user management with SCIM 2.0. With SCIM enabled, customers can seamlessly create users, update attributes, and deactivate users directly from Okta and other SCIM-compliant identity providers.

By syncing changes automatically, SCIM 2.0 reduces friction for IT and ensures consistent access and user permissions across systems.

Risk Assessments .csv Export

DataGrail customers can now seamlessly export an up-to-date comprehensive summary of their risk assessments directly from the platform. This feature allows customers to download a CSV file containing essential details such as approval status, templates used, contributors, relevant dates, and more. This export can also be used to generate reporting to measure trends around adoption.

By consolidating this information into a single file, teams can efficiently measure and report on trends related to risk assessments and their adoption across the organization.Learn more about managing Risk Assessments here.

Custom Notes in System Profile

DataGrail customers can now enhance their System Profiles with Custom Notes by adding relevant resources such as contracts, Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), and other important documents—directly within each system’s profile.

By consolidating notes and documents within the platform, teams can reduce reliance on external documentation and streamline communication and privacy management.
