GrailCast Live Ep. 1 Rewind: AI, Privacy, & the Future of the Web ft. Ty Sbano
Ty Sbano, CISO at Webflow and three-time global CISO, joined DataGrail CEO Daniel Barber for the inaugural GrailCast Live to talk about what’s changing as AI becomes part of how teams build, ship, and operate on the web.
Listen to Ty’s full conversation with Daniel Barber on GrailCast Live.
Ty’s core message was refreshingly steady: AI is a real accelerator, but responsible adoption comes down to fundamentals. If you treat AI like a shortcut around governance, you will create more risk than velocity. If you treat it like a powerful tool inside clear guardrails, you can move faster with more confidence.
In this episode, Ty and Daniel cover 5 things every AI-adopting team should consider:
- Use AI to accelerate the first draft, not ship the final product. Treat AI as a momentum engine, not a replacement for human judgment and review.
- Assume your content will be copied, scraped, and remixed. Plan for information to travel and build better habits around what data goes into AI tools.
- Put trust and safety on offense with AI, not just your product teams. If AI speeds up shipping, your detection, triage, and response loops need to speed up too.
- Govern AI like risk management, not a special project. Don’t panic. Plug AI into the fundamentals you already rely on like data flows and documentation.
- Plan for agent accountability before something breaks. As agents move from experiments to the new standard, accountability must be baked in from the start.
This episode is a steady reminder that responsible AI adoption is not about slowing down. It’s about moving forward with clarity so innovation and trust can scale together.
