Employee Spotlight: Tamila Bubuteishvili, Senior QA Engineer

DataGrail, April 25, 2019

DataGrail’s Employee Spotlight series highlights the person behind the professional, digging deep and discovering what drives our team members.

This week’s spotlight features Tamila Bubuteishvili, Senior QA Engineer. Tamila previously led Quality Assurance at Smule Inc., has experience in building QA processes and teams from scratch, and has successfully delivered numerous web and mobile projects throughout 10+ years of QA Engineering.

What excites you about joining the DataGrail team?

The problem DataGrail addresses is real, and I see huge potential for the company and team to grow. But what really excites me about joining DataGrail is the team of amazingly talented, bright, kind and very positive individuals. Transparency and support for the employees are the main focus of the leadership team, and that’s very important for me.

The second you step into DataGrail’s office, you feel a wave of support and positive energy; this was true during my first day and has been true every day forward. DataGrail is a hidden gem that I’m fortunate and grateful to be a part of.

What’s your role at DataGrail, and how do you see yourself growing over the next 2 years?

I joined DataGrail as a Senior QA Engineer. I’m hoping to put robust processes in place where QA strategy and practices play a critical role in the company’s overall success. I’m looking forward to building and leading a strong QA organization over time, providing leadership that promotes individual growth — which empowers the whole team.

With this approach, DataGrail can continue to improve its delivery of high-quality products.

What has been your favorite project or challenge you’ve worked on in your career?

I started my QA Engineering career back in 1998, and together with a team, I’ve delivered a large array of interesting projects and apps. To this day, the project that I’m most proud of is the very first ever Commercial Electronic Office (CEO) Portal of Wells Fargo bank. This was back in the year 2000, and they still have it today.

Another interesting and challenging project was our first Apple TV app at Smule, called Sing Home. We developed an application with technology that Apple had just launched. It was quite a learning experience because everything was still new to us.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

The Spanish language. I’m dreaming of moving to Spain at some point in my life journey, preferably to Barcelona. Spanish would definitely come in handy! 🙂

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I love traveling, reading and exercising and admire attending live sports and music events. I try to do a lot of those, but one of my true passions is speed on the ground (racing). I love fast, exotic cars! Unfortunately, I don’t have much time and opportunities to enjoy them as much as I want, but when I can, I’m in heaven.
